The Boston Museum of Science's Engineering is Elementary (EiE) project aims to foster engineering and technological literacy among children. EiE is creating a research-based, standards-based, and classroom-tested curriculum that integrates engineering and technology concepts and skills with elementary science topics. EiE materials also connect with literacy, social studies, and mathematics. Through interesting engineering design challenges children are invited to apply their knowledge of science, engineering, and their problem solving skills, as they design, create, and improve possible solutions. This session reveals the "Best of Bugs" and "Thinking Inside the Box" units.  Upon completion of the training, all participants will receive the Engineering is Elementary Teacher's Guides which include the storybooks, lesson plans, background materials, assessments, and differentiation strategies for ELL.

Note: Six (6) GT hours will count toward 6 GT hours for annual recertification or 30-hour certification but not in lieu of Curriculum and Instruction - Day 3.

Participants will receive two binders upon completion of the training, and the cost of the binders ($90) has been included in the fee for the workshop.
