The At-Risk Services Network is designed to keep school personnel up-to-date and informed on best practices related to at-risk students. The network will provide the opportunity for school personnel from all areas to keep informed, share information and resources, and build a network of support with other campuses and districts.
Human trafficking is defined as a form of abuse or neglect under Texas Family Code, and it is on the rise in Central Texas. Education professionals are required to report suspected abuse or neglect, including human trafficking, within 48 hours of suspecting the abuse or neglect. This workshop will provide a foundation for you in recognizing signs of possible abuse, neglect and/or human trafficking and provide information on reporting requirements.
The morning session of this workshop will focus on Human Trafficking and will be presented by Key2Free, a local organization committed to abolishing sex trafficking. In the afternoon, the Williamson County Child Advocacy Center will present on child abuse reporting - identifying, reporting, and supporting the student.
Trainings within the At-Risk Services Network are free for districts with At-Risk Services Network membership. Non-members may also register for this workshop.
