Middle School STAAR Science: Strategies for Teaching Life Science (Gr 6-8)

If you teach middle school science (Grades 6-8), this is your opportunity to explore TEKS-aligned learning activities that promote a well rounded science curriculum using a common scope and sequence for science instruction.

Each session will feature unpacking the TEKS, strategies and activities that meet the TEKS, and differentiation strategies to meet the needs of all learners.

They will also all include time to explore vertical alignment from 6th – 8th grade for that particular reporting category. In addition, we will address T-TESS components, relating to:

  • Instructional planning and delivery
  • Quality of the design and execution of lessons
  • Collaboration with other educational professionals

TEKS, T-TESS, and Timely Topics… All in one Workshop!

In this workshop, we will unpack the 8th grade TEKS 11A - 11D and examine the 6th and 7th grade TEKS that support them.  Teachers will have access to electronic documents for every activity we do.
