Support for Students Exposed to Trauma: A Small Group Approach

A course designed to assist educators in understanding the prevalence and impact of traumatic events in the lives of students and develop effective interventions through a trauma-sensitive lens.

Traumatic events in the lives of children have tremendous impact on their physical, emotional, social, and mental development resulting in academic and behavioral challenges at school. Schools are coming under increased pressure to recognize and respond to those challenges through a trauma-sensitive lens.

This workshop, based on the Support for Students Exposed to Trauma: The SSET Program, will provide counselors, social workers, and other school personnel with the curriculum and guidance to implement a small group cognitive-behavioral counseling intervention for students who exhibit stress resulting from exposure to traumatic events.

CEUs are available to Licensed Social Workers and Licensed Professional Counselors upon request.
