Just in Time for STAAR - EOC I and II

As the STAAR test draws closer it becomes important to move into a genre-based unit of study surrounding STAAR. What does authentic instruction look like in regards to assessment? What should the focus be for the few weeks prior to the state exam?

Come ready and willing to engage in discussion and planning for your upcoming weeks of instruction.

What types of texts should you be using as mentors to prepare for the assessment? How can you take the writing instruction you have been giving all year and apply it to snapshot writing?

This training will focus on designing reading and writing instruction that uses student strengths to push them further. In order to get the most out of this day, participants are asked to bring student writing samples to work with.

This session will focus on EOC I and II - close reading/expository writing.
