Book Frenzy: Soil, Seeds, and Slithery Things
Book Frenzy workshops prepare educators to dive deeper into children's literature to connect content area skills with literacy skills.
A Book Frenzy is designed to help elementary teachers and librarians explore a variety of content objectives and literacy skills using picture books. During these workshops we will showcase a collection of activities and strategies that teachers can use with picture books from their school libraries and classrooms.
Get down and dirty as we explore authentic childrens’ literature with activities that connect to TEKS-aligned science, reading, and writing for Grades 2-5. We’ll look at natural resources, plant life cycles and adaptations, interdependence within ecosystems, vocabulary-building, and quick-writes.
