Cognitive Guided Instruction Summer Professional Development Seminar

We are proud to offer this unique opportunity for K-2 teachers!  The Texas Regional Collaboratives has generously funded this training so teachers can participate at a significantly reduced cost.  As a participant in the Texas Cognitively Guided Instruction (CGI) Pilot Program, you are entitled to the following:

  • 7 days of CGI Professional Development for K-2 teachers including: 4 days in the summer, 2 days in September, and 1 day in the 2017-2018 school year.
  • A CGI Administrator Support Seminar in your region including: 1 day in your region plus one half-day webinar in the 2016-2017 school year.
  • A CGI Local Leader Support Seminar including; 2 days of face-to-face meeting plus half-day webinars
  • A copy of the book Children's Mathematics: Cognitively Guided Instruction

This is the first 4-days of the 7 day Professional Development Seminar for K-2 teachers.

To increase the efficacy of this program, the Texas Regional Collaboratives is requiring the following:

  • Teachers attend with at least one other teacher from their school. (A team of 3 teachers per school is preferred.)
  • The school principal attends the CGI Administrator Support Seminar and Webinar.
  • The program local leaders attend the CGI Location Leaders Support Webinars (2 sessions mid-fall 2017 and early spring 2018).
  • Teachers attending the sessions teach K-2 students.

Instructional coaches, administrators, special education teachers and ELL teachers who work with K-2 students are encouraged to participate in the 7-day CGI Professional Development Seminar.
