At-Risk Services Network: Fighting Thinspiration: Eating Disorder Identification, Intervention, and Treatment
The At-Risk Services Network is designed to keep school personnel up-to-date and informed on best practices related to at-risk students. The network will provide the opportunity for school personnel from all areas to keep informed, share information and resources, and build a network of support with other campuses and districts.
Ten percent of students will struggle with an eating disorder sometime during their life. Television, film, social media, and digital culture foster unrealistic norms for youth body image, starting as young as kindergarten. This workshop will review the different types of eating disorders and prevention and treatment options available in Central Texas.
