Speak Like a Pirate, Teach Like a Pirate, Lead Like a Pirate (Teacher Session)

Join us on national Speak Like a Pirate day and celebrate all things pirate.  Region 13 is conducting two dynamic workshops: Lead like a Pirate and Speak Like a Pirate.  Administrators and campus educators can learn how to transform their campuses using the pirate philosophy.

Passion, Immersion, Rapport, Ask and Analyze, Transformation, and Enthusiasm.

Yo Ho Yo Ho, a Pirate's life for me! The open seas of our classrooms are littered with treacherous boredom, monstrous snores, and an overall lack of engagement. But, as any captain of the high seas knows: where there's danger there's treasure!

During this one-day conference we'll teach you landlubbers a thing or two about teaching and leading the pirate way. Based on Dave Burgess signature work "Teach Like a Pirate," we're hosting a day of swashbuckling engagement strategies, treasure tips, sea shanties, costumes, and more. We're teaching you how to bring the fun and excitement back to your lesson's through performance, creativity, inspiration and innovation.

Join our frightening crew as we traverse the open seas and plot a course for the mythical isles of student engagement which dares to be exciting, entertaining, and never boring!

Special guests, the Gilbert and Sullivan Society will be singing selections from the Pirates of Penzance during lunch.

We'll also be hosting a costume contest. Come dressed in your finest pirate gear and winners will receive free slots for an upcoming workshop!
