Section 504 Procedural Guidelines, Forms and Updates
Recipients of federal financial assistance, which include public and charter schools, and in some cases, private schools, must comply with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. Students with a mental or physical impairment that substantially limits a major life activity (reading, learning, communicating, etc.), are entitled to certain rights and protections to ensure non-discrimination and a free appropriate public education.
