21st Century Skills in PBL

Welcome to the PBL Online Course, 21st Century Skills in PBL. This is part of a series of courses to support you in understanding and implementing PBL, Project based learning, in your classroom.

21st Century Skills are one of the critical components that make project-based learning different from triaditional classroom practices.  They support and enrich each of the unique components of PBL from the driving questions, to student inquiry, to the final presentation fo the project.

In this course you will learn:

  • which skills are considered 21st Century
  • how to develop 21st Century Skills through PBL
  • how to incorporate the explicit teaching of the 21st Century Skills into PBLs
  • how to use rubrics to assess your students' mastery of the 21st Century Skills
  • how to facilitate student reflection and future areas of growth within the PBL proces

We hope that you will use this course to create a new PBL project or to refine an existing project.
