Aligning Coursework to Targeted Occupations in Central Texas

The Counselor Cooperative holds four annual network meetings for secondary counselors. The meetings will offer information and training around the four components of the Comprehensive Guidance and Counseling Program and networking opportunities with fellow counselors.

In the morning, this workshop will examine upcoming high-demand occupations in Central Texas and the use of current data to align school/student programs of study and endorsements.

In the afternoon, Round Rock ISD School Counselors will present a session that will highlight the importance of early college planning by reviewing current research and helping to create practical college and career counseling lessons for middle school counselors to implement on their campuses. Attendees will leave with methodologies and strategies for creating a counseling program which will foster a college mindset at the middle school level.

Even more, Hutto ISD School Counselors will describe how they get 100% of their seniors to apply to college. They will provide simple college and career readiness tools they use through K-12 grades that enhance their school guidance programs.
