Apex AM Fall: Intermediate/Advanced Users

Texas Education Agency (TEA) has made online resources available to Texas public schools and open enrollment charter schools through the TexasSUCCESS initiative.

TexasSUCCESS includes scientifically validated and research-based online programs to target the prevention of academic failure in mathematics and reading in the following service categories:

  • Math Grades 3–8 & Algebra I (Think Through Math)
  • Reading Grades 3–5 (Istation) (Istation Espanol available for 3rd grade)
  • Reading Grades 6–8 (Compass Learning)
  • English I & II (Apex Learning)

Representatives from each of the 4 companies will provide training for district staff to facilitate effective implementation of these resources into instruction.

These training sessions will be BYOD (Bring Your Own Device). A limited number of laptops will be available for participants who do not have a device to bring.

Apex Learning Texas SUCCESS Tutorials provide targeted tutorials reading support for students enrolled in English I or English II. Tutorials facilitate accelerated instruction and help students meet the requirements for successful completion of English I or English II.

Session Audience: Teachers / campus leadership / district leadership who have used Apex Learning Tutorials for 2+ months

Developed specifically for TEKS and aligned to STAAR assessments, Tutorials offer prescriptive assessment, direct instruction, and meaningful practice to build the required knowledge and skills.

Participants in this session will dive deep into the various models of Tutorials implementation in the classroom, school, and district. Participants will reflect on implementation experiences and will share in a round-table discussion. We will take a deep look at resources and best practices before creating a take-away document for immediate use in the classroom or school.

This session includes hands-on activities. Please bring your own device and be prepared to interact and share.
