Region 13's E-Campus

In this workshop, participants will look at ways to refocus units and daily lessons to enhance students using the language, rather than simply knowing about the language. They will explore backward design principles with the end in mind, identifying the desired results based on proficiency targets, creating can do statements, incorporating the three modes of communication, and including spontaneous language production opportunities. They will examine the knowledge, skill, and proficiency level expectations set forth in the TEKS to guide in refocusing planning. Participants are encouraged to bring their curriculum (such as curriculum road maps, objectives, etc.) and their own device.
