Assessment: Students Showing What they Can Do with the Language - LOTE

Participants in this workshop will learn about various formative and summative assessment strategies for students to show what they can do with the language.

In exploring assessments that mirror real-world uses of language, participants will learn how to use performance based rubrics aligned to the ACTFL descriptors, including student self-assessments using can-do statements, and ideas for using time-saving technology tools for assessing.

Participants are encouraged to bring assessments and will be given time to reflect, brainstorm and plan. They are also encouraged to bring assessments to share that demonstrate what students can do with the language (can be on paper, an audio, a video, etc.) and, if desired, student examples for a gallery walk. Also, they are encouraged to bring their own device.
