MATH - 6th STAAR Assessment Prep
Join us for an AMAZING day of learning, collaboration, and FUN as we learn strategies to support students with the 6th grade STAAR Math Assessment!
In this workshop, we will:
- Unpack the "hard to learn, hard to teach" TEKS assessed on the STAAR assessment and identify opportunities to gain ground with students
- Learn strategies and explore resources to support active, hands-on review for each reporting category on STAAR
- Create a plan for implementation that spirals skills and supports differentiation
The Region 13 Content Services team strives to be:

Data-driven: Using longitutal, regional data from 2015 to 2018, the Region 13 Math team discovered a drop in student performance in 36% of the SEs assessed on the 6th grade Math STAAR. This workshop specifically targets the power standards that will support students in gaining ground.
Responsive to student learning needs: Participants will walk away with specific strategies to support mathematical discussions, as well as activities that target low-performing SEs.
Learner-centered: No more sit and get! This workshop provides cooperative learning, stations, scavenger hunts, and a plethora of resources that can be used in the classroom the very next day.
