Special Education Evaluations for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Students with Dr. Catherine Collier, Ph.D.

THIS VIRTUAL WORKSHOP HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED DUE TO THE POWER OUTAGES.  NEW DATE IS 4/9/21 2:00-4:00 CST.

This workshop will focus on the evaluation of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse students whose home or primary language is other than English (with less emphasis on Spanish).  Evaluators will learn how to design and interpret evaluations for students where bilingual assessments are not readily available.  Participants will learn how to use the Checklist for Cross-Cultural Adminstration of Standardized Tests (CCAST) as well as other resources.

As our region and state become increasingly diverse it will be important for evaluators to have the training and skills to address the assessment needs of students with language backgrounds that span the globe.
