This course is aligned to the Effective School Framework Prioritized Lever 5: Effective Instruction Essential Action 5.1: Objective-driven daily lesson plans with formative assessments and Essential Action 5.3: Data-driven instruction.
Inclusive practice is about more than just being together in the same classroom. It is an approach to teaching that recognizes the variability of students, enabling all students the opportunity to have access to, and make progress in, the general education classroom.
The MTSS+ Inclusive Practices course is a cohort model with district/school teams of up to ten people attending professional development provided by Region 13 Education Specialists. Participants will explore best practices in inclusive education, including topics such as co-teaching, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and assistive/instructional technology. Participants will receive resources, ongoing implementation support, coaching, and targeted feedback and will have the opportunity to contribute at least three artifacts based on their learning. Also included are brief follow-up sessions to explore the book Leading for All and cover related MTSS content from other Region 13 Education Specialists.
