Merging Explicit Instruction with Dyslexia Strategies for All Students - Lesson Design - explores the foundations of Explicit Instruction, designing organized lessons focused on strategies, skills, and content, as well as pacing of lessons. You will also learn how the organization of the classroom and methods for teaching routines and rules sets the stage for delivering lessons in a way that promotes learning for ALL students including students with dyslexia and other reading challenges. You will look at how to make your classroom climate both orderly and positive—valuable tools for veteran teachers and coaches mentoring other teachers as well as for the novice teacher.
This course is based on the work of Anita Archer and Charles Hughes's Explicit Instruction: Effective and Efficient Teaching. This is a research-based instructional approach that empowers ALL classroom teachers to deliver instruction to diverse groups of learners.
Participants will need to have available a copy of the book. Books may be purchased through your favorite bookstore. Also, check you school library to see if a copy is available.

- Live Zoom Meeting - 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
- Self-paced modules – approximately 3 hours to be completed before 10/13/2021
