STE(A)M Careers Explorer guest: Chad Dolezal - Executive Chef and Restauranteur
Born and raised in Dallas, TX, Chad Dolezal moved to Portland, OR in 2005 and began working in kitchens while attending the Western Culinary Institute. After graduation, Dolezal moved to Nuits-Saint-Georges, France, where he worked as a stage under Chef Rene Pianetti at La Gentilhommiere. After returning to Austin, Chad worked as sous chef in Sandra Bullock's Bess Bistro. In the role of Executive Chef, he was part of the opening team behind El Arbol serving South American cuisine in Austin. In February of 2011, El Arbol was named one of the top ten new restaurants by Texas Monthly. Since 2013 Dolezal has been co-owner/Executive Chef of The Hightower in Austin, Texas. Currently he is splitting his time between Austin and Dallas working on two upcoming projects.
