Work Systems and Structured Work Tasks - Make and Take

Come explore how visual systems, repeated practice, and graduated prompting help students with signficant cognitive disabilities develop and maintain the ability to work on their own.

The creation of work systems and structured work tasks that answer the questions: "What and how much work needs to be done?", "When is the work completed?", and "What happens when I’m done?” are key to fostering learning in students.

This workshop will prepare special educators with foundational knowledge around the purpose, the planning, and the application of work systems and structured work tasks for students with signficant cognitive disabilties.

This is a 1 hour training with an additional half hour with hands-on materials to create the beginnings of your own make and take work system!
