McKinney-Vento/Migrant Education Overview for Counselors/Administrators
Students experiencing homelessness, being in foster care and migratory children, have the same rights to a free appropriate public education and deserve the same opportunities as all other classmates. In this session, you will get an overview of two federal education programs: The McKinney-Vento Act's Education for Homeless Children and Youth Program and The Migrant Education Program. Learn about federal requirements, qualifications, critical topics related to each program, support services and network opportunities.
