The Behavior Specialist Endorsement Program (BSEP) is a seven-month program designed to meet the professional development needs of school staff who are supporting student behavior. The BSP meets three times a month from January to July, with over 240 hours of independent and group instructional time. It is offered in a blended format, available simultaneously in-person and through Zoom.
The role of the Behavior Specialist is multi-faceted and challenging. It combines knowledge and understanding of student behavior, the ability to analyze data, and skillful communication with a variety of stakeholders: families, staff, and administration.
Professionals in the field of behavior support must be prepared to meet the many and varying needs of our students. BSEP participants will learn about SPED law, coaching and modeling classroom management, creating data-driven and skills-based behavior goals, and understanding the Functional Behavior Assessment process.
A stipend is available for qualifying individuals.
