2023 Advancing Academics Conference - Elementary

Our Advancing Academics conference focuses on providing elementary teachers opportunities to discover ways to challenge students. These instructional strategies will benefit the advanced learners in your classroom, the students identified as gifted and talented, and students who engage with hands-on, problem-based learning.

Start your day with a live keynote session featuring a speaker who understands how to challenge students in all classroom settings. We are excited to announce Blake Haygood, M. Ed. as the keynote speaker for the Advancing Academics Conference.  Blake works with gifted learners as a specialist in Austin ISD. He is also the parent of a PG student and the Chair of the Parent Resource Committee for TAGT. He dedicates most of his time to researching and practicing ways to meet the needs of the spectrum of gifted learners in his life.

You can attend a variety of breakout sessions presented by experts in the field of Gifted and Talented Instruction. You will interact with other elementary teachers across the region to share your experiences and learn from each other.

This conference provides six credit hours and meets the requirement for an annual update for Gifted and Talented teachers.
