About our keynote presenter:
After teaching German for several years at Brookwood High School in Gwinnett County, Georgia, David Jahner is currently the Foreign Language Director for the Gwinnett County Public Schools, the largest school district in Georgia. He holds a M.Ed. in Second Languages and Cultures Education from the University of Minnesota and a B.A. in German and History from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD. David has served as President of the National Association of District Supervisors of Foreign Languages (NADSFL) and is the Immediate Past President of the Foreign Language Association of Georgia (FLAG). In 2008, he was honored as NADSFL’s Supervisor of the Year and is the 2011 recipient of the ACTFL Florence Steiner Award for Leadership in Foreign Language Education. He has also contributed to various publications, including the AP Vertical Teams Guide for World Languages, Foreign Language Annals and the NCLB Compliance Insider as well as served as content advisor for several World Languages workshops for the College Board. He will become the SCOLT Executive Director in March 2012.
