Targeting the TEKS in Science: Topographic Maps and Satellite Imagery in MS

Designed to target a small number of TEKS, this series aims to provide an in-depth look at the student expectations, depth, rigor, content knowledge and strategies that will be needed for students to demonstrate mastery of these concepts.

These workshops are considered to be Core or foundational in nature.  The intent of these workshops is to build teacher content knowledge and provide pedagogical support.  New teachers, teachers new to their content area/grade level, or teachers who are teaching a SE for the first time will especially benefit from these workshops.

This workshop will focus on TEKS 8.9C which has been identified for the STAAR as a readiness standard.  Earth and Space Science teachers may also benefit from this workshop as it relates to ESS 2.F and ESS 11.D.

Participants in the 2011-2012 or 2012-2013 ESC Region XIII Texas Regional Collaborative for Science should use their discount code to register to ensure that credit hours are properly documented.

All other participants should use the discount code TEKSPD1112. Due to TEA funding through the TEKS PD grant, the registration fee for this training has been waived.
