PPCD New Teacher Boot Camp (Lifesavers for PPCD)
Ten days of training to jump start your classroom! Everything you need to know to have a successful year in the Preschool Program for Children with Disabilities (PPCD). These trainings will enrich the knowledge you have and give you specific insights into the special education process for 3-5 year olds. Boost your confidence, transform your classroom and create teaching materials that will be ready to use your first day. These workshops will be led by a combination of national and local presenters.
Overview: Instructional Materials will be provided to participants each day of training for use in their district classrooms.
Day One/Two: On site instruction in a PPCD classroom (setup, room arrangement, using visuals, circle time, structure, schedules, and data collection), basics of IEP goals and objectives.
Day Three: Early Childhood Outcomes Overview, communication, behavior and other survival tips
Days One and Two will be off-site in a PPCD classroom in Williams Elementary, Austin, TX. (Portable in back of school)
Day Three will be at the Education Service Center, Region XIII.
