Communication and mobility are not luxuries, they are necessities, and can take on very different meanings at different stages of life.The desire to communicate and interact with family and friends is fundamental. At work, school, or on the go, having access to everything within our environmentsis essential. As human beings, the desire to be independent is instinctual, and while we often choose to live and work cooperatively, we are empowered by self-sufficiency.
The session, "Access to Mobility and Assistive Technology in the Classroom Setting: Practical Applications", presented by Ginny Paleg, DScPT, MS, PT and Michelle L. Lange, OTR, ABDA, ATP will offer unique solutions for a variety of complex physical and communication challenges to support students with disabilities to take charge of their environments and communicate freely, while enjoying every possible moment of independence.
