DBQ (Follow-Up) for the Social Studies and ELA Classroom

The DBQ Follow-Up session is a second tier to your learning and implementation of the DBQ writing method.  It is an opportunity for you to build upon what you learned in the first workshop and what you experienced in the classroom with real student application.  Participants will go further by discussing the transition from document analysis to essay writing. Elements of a good essay are discussed in depth, and special attention is given to a variety of writing supports embedded in the program. Participants also spend time analyzing student work and norming student essays using the DBQ Project rubric.

Teachers who attend this workshop must have attended the initial DBQ Project workshop at Region XIII or in a district.

This is a Connected Professional Development Workshop: Connected Professional Development is intended for teachers who are well-versed in their core content and instructional strategies and want to continue to construct and build their own knowledge with thoughtful guidance.

(The registration fee for this training has been waived due to TEA funding through the TEKS PD grant.)

NOTE:  If you attended DBQ training outside Region XIII, please contact Dee Dee Monagas (512-919-5450 or DeeDee.Monagas@esc13.txed.net ).  You will receive a discount code for registration once you have provided your certificate of attendance for DBQ.
