Spend the day with Texas’s resident guru of expository writing, Ruben Rodriguez, the director of UIL Ready Writing. He will lead teachers through reading student writing samples with a critical lens, calibrating and range finding mentor texts and creating scaffolded prompts to use in the classroom. It will be the STAAR version of an AP reading!
This is considered a BUILDING Workshop.
· Building Professional Development is considered extending; the learning experiences are designed to build upon core knowledge and practices experienced teachers have.
· Building Professional Development ideally should extend the knowledge in the Core Workshops, allowing teachers to further their skills in a particular professional development pathway.
