Mathematics for English Language Learners (MELL) - Taylor ISD Location

This training is designed to assist mathematics educators in meeting the needs of English Language Learners through the implementation of research-based instructional strategies in specific mathematics contexts.  


This training will also include an examination of the special needs of this population in the mathematics classroom, as well as strategies for the development of language specific to mathematics, for planning lessons and for the delivery of rigorous and relevant instruction.  Participants will also look at the English Language Proficiency Standards and how they relate to their current classrooms.

  

 MELL has been designated a Core training based on the Professional Development Pathways.

  • Core Professional Development is considered foundational, the learning experiences are designed to be introductory in nature. Workshops focus on high quality Tier 1 instruction and some Tier 2 intervention with supporting instructional strategies.

 


This workshop will be held at Taylor High School in Taylor ISD, not at Region XIII.
