Texas Adolescent Literacy Academy (TALA) Focus on Writing: Professional Development to Support Academic Writing
In this two-day workshop, participants will explore instructional approaches designed to assist students as they become more analytical and purposeful writers. Training will include the following: reading as a writer; incorporating techniques learned from reading into one's own writing; developing thinking skills through writing; and teaching written conventions. Participants will have opportunities for hands-on practice of reading and writing strategies designed to promote student success on STAAR and in college and career. The session will also include access to online resources and tools available through Project Share.
