Differentiated Instruction for Secondary Mathematics [Burnet]

This course is designed to give participants hands on experiences with strategies that support high quality Tier 1 instruction in mathematics. The course workshops are designed to meet the needs of a wide variety of learners including ELL, bilingual, special education, and gifted students.

Explore differentiation in order to provide high quality Tier 1 instruction to all secondary math students. Participants will experience research-based strategies for designing respectful tasks and implementing on-going formative assessment.  An emphasis will be placed on building classroom community, improving math mindset and facilitating student work within flexible groups. 

This is considered a BUILDING Workshop.  Building Professional Development is considered extending; the learning experiences are designed to build upon core knowledge and practices experienced teachers have.
