The Business Management Cooperative will provide a minimum of nine critical issue luncheon sessions for the school district's chief financial officer/business manager, business office personnel, superintendents or other members of the district administrative team. Besides information on school finance related critical issues, membership will provide annual investment officer training and technical assistance by email/telephone. Sessions are approved for TASBO and CPA continuing education credit.

BMC - ESC 13 Summary of Finance Template Workshop

This session will be an overview of the ESC 13 Summary of Finances template that is developed by Sonny Monroe. The SOF template being used is a modification and extension of Omar Garcia's template and uses data copied/pasted from TEA's School District State Aid Reports website and the district's TxEIS software system. The Region 13 template uses Omar Garcia's template as a base and modifies his template in an effort to make it possible to more completely monitor what could be considered the essentials of a district's financial health, i. e., how much funding you receive, how much funding you will earn and how much funding the district budgeted to receive.

The Region 13 template will compare DPE (the funding being earned during the current year) to the LPE (the funding that is being sent to the district by the FSP Department) and will compare DPE (the funding being earned during the current year) to the amount of funds that was budgeted to be received from the FSP Department. The differences of DPE to LPE and TEA payment ledgers to budget are communicated in the "Summary SOF REPORT 1213" tab. Other important information can be found on the "LPE-DPE (Side-by Side)" and "Report-SOF 1213" tabs.
