Amazing Adaptations

This series provides the option of bundled or stand-alone workshops addressing the Elementary Science Content Strands for grades 3-5.

Each session ties literature with science content to provide a cross-curricular look at important skills and concepts.

Members of the Science Classroom Instruction Network (SCI-net) receive bundled discounts for workshops in this series.

Page-Turner workshops will include the following components:

  • Science TEKS Overview
  • Science Content Specificity
  • Figure 19 Skill Focus
  • Paired Reading Sample
  • Periodical Call Out
  • Research/Information Literacy Component
  • Investigation Stations (3D to 2D)
  • Activity sequence in the 5E Model

In an effort to promote campus collaboration, we invite teachers participating in the SCI-net bundle, or any Page Turner workshop, to bring their campus librarian with them for FREE!  When you register, contact Leslie Barrett at leslie.barrett@esc13.txed.net for a collaboration discount code for your librarian.

Organisms are incredible! They are built to adapt as they undergo unique life cycles and they have structures that help them survive within their environments.  Join us for this Page-Turner workshop and discover TEKS-aligned activities that target literacy skills in addition to building science background.  When it comes to adaptations, prepare to be amazed!
