At-Risk Services: Compassion Fatigue in Educators

The At-Risk Services Network is designed to keep school personnel up-to-date and informed on best practices related to at-risk students. The network will provide the opportunity for school personnel from all areas to keep informed, share information and build a network of support with other campuses and districts.

Do you find yourself awake at night worrying about a student who has revealed way more to you than you ever expected to hear? Do you wonder if education is right for you because you just “can’t deal with this?”  You may be experiencing Compassion Fatigue, or Secondary Trauma, a leading cause of educator burn-out. In this session, you will learn to identify the signs that you, or a co-worker, are experiencing Compassion Fatigue, and what you can do to prevent or overcome it without losing your focus or passion for education.

Trainings within the At-Risk Services Network are free for districts with At-Risk Services Network membership. Non-members may also register for this workshop.

Contact Sherry DiMarco, LCSW, for your district's At-Risk Network discount code or for more information.
