MATH: Calculator Workshop - TI Nspire
This workshop is designed for 8th Grade and Algebra mathematics educators in Texas who are either beginning to use the TI-Nspire™ technology or who want to learn more to drive student success on the Texas 8th Grade Mathematics EOC exam.
Educators will cover the key elements of teaching with the TI-Nspire™ CX handheld and TI-Nspire™ CX Teacher Software, and the workshop will focus on helping students use the TI-Nspire™ CX handheld to better understand key topics on the Texas 8th Grade Mathematics STAAR exam.
Workshop outcomes include:
- Leveraging the TI-Nspire™ CX handheld for exam questions in key reporting categories, such as Computations and Algebraic Relationships; Geometry and Measurement; and Data Analysis
- Analyzing and solving a wide range of sample problems using graphs, tables and calculator tools
- Exploring premade activities that reinforce technology skills and deepen student understanding of key EOC exam topics
