CANCELED: Dr. Anita Archer: Explicit Reading Across the Curriculum

Words are all we have … in order to understand new concepts in science, build background knowledge and express ideas in social studies, or understand narrative and informative text in ELA.  Spend time with Dr. Anita Archer as she deeply looks at reading practices that help build comprehension and fluency using a scaffolded approach (I do it; We do it; You do it) and distributed practice. Walk away with high yield strategies for previewing text, actively engaging in reading, and processing the information for later recall.

Although this day will focus primarily on Tier 1 grades 3-8 and SPED through grade 12, all are welcome.
