TEA has developed the STAAR Alternate 2 assessment to assess students in grades 3–8 and high school who have significant cognitive disabilities and are receiving special education services. STAAR Alternate 2 administrators are not required to complete this training in addition to that required for administrators of all other forms of STAAR.
In this optional training we will discuss:
- Participation Requirements
- Allowable Accommodations for STAAR Alternate 2
- Sample Test Questions
- Testing Timelines
- Planning instruction using the Essence Statements, TEKS Curriculum Framework, TEKS Vertical Alignments, and the Instructional Decision-Making Guides for accessing the general curriculum
Training will be held online over Zoom.
