CANCELED: Designing Instruction for Student Talk and Engagement
Aligned with Effective School Framework Lever 3

This course is aligned to the Effective School Framework Prioritized Lever 3 EA 3.1 Compelling and aligned vision, mission, goals, values focused on a safe environment and high expectations.

If you're a teacher or a leader, how do you define engaging instruction? As Dr.John Hatttie reminds us, how is learning visible? In this interactive workshop, you will learn about the three dimensions of engagement-- behavioral, cognitive, and emotional--and about cultivating a positive and productive learning environment. When designing engaging instruction, you will be able to integrate routines and techniques for talk moves to increase academic conversations in your classroom or in a virtual classroom.

Come alone or with a colleague or a team, and learn together how to build student ownership of their own learning.

This workshop will include ideas from the work of Jeff Zwiers, John Hattie, Doug Fisher, and Nancy Frey.

Please note the workshop will be presented through Zoom. You'll receive an email the day before the workshop with the Zoom link and password. You can email questions@esc13.net the day of the workshop if you need the Zoom link.
