Specific Learning Disabilities Evaluation: DD/C Method of PSW for the Beginner March 2021

This workshop will explain the three models of SLD identification and how to put the “Alternative Research-Based Approach” or Pattern of Strengths and Weaknesses (PSW) model into action.

Participants will learn about the Dual-Discrepancy/Consistency (DD/C) method of PSW and how Cross Battery Assessment and the X-BASS tool can be used to help inform your data analysis and evaluation.

This course will emphasize that the identification of SLD is a clinical judgment that is made through a convergence of data sources and not one tool alone.  Participants will learn how to design their assessment, how to augment their testing batteries to supplement and/or test hypotheses (Cross Battery), and how to analyze their data (X-BASS).  A case study will be used to gain practical experience with the PSW, DD/C method.

This workshop will be a live online broadcast (Zoom).  Participants must be available on the day of the workshop to earn the 6.0 hour CE certificate.  The Zoom meeting code will be sent to participants prior to the workshop date.  Email correspondence will be sent to the participant's eCampus primary email address.
