This session has been canceled. Please check with the workshop contact for more details or reschedule options.

Aligned with the Effective Schools Framework Lever 5 EA 5.1 Objective-driven daily lesson plans with formative assessments

We know students come to our class wanting to know what they're learning and more importantly, why they're learning the lesson content. Whether a class is being taught for the first time or the fiftieth, a “road map” of their intended  learning goals always helps you and your students stay on track and lets them answer the what and the why for their learning.

During this interactive workshop, you will identify and analyze the priority TEKS for your content. You'll walk away with a course learning map for students that contains a detailed graphic organizer with a content map, essential questions, and assessments with targeted critical thinking skills. You will design a Strategic Instruction Model (SIM) Course Organizer during a curriculum planning process and then plan how to use it with students during your instruction. Your students will be actively enaged throughout your course as they use the map or organizer to direct their own learning with you as their guide..
