Science: Identifying Gaps and Writing to Learn in Elementary Science (Summer 2021)

Are you ready to learn how to utilize vertical alignment to spiral K-5th Science TEKS? Are you interested in learning how to embed high impact writing strategies to develop critical thinking skills? In this self-paced, online course you will study the K-5th Science TEKS, and prepare for implementation through research, discussion, and application.

By the end of this course, you'll be able to:

  • Explore vertical alignment between the grade levels and analyze possible gaps that might have occurred due to COVID-19.
  • Investigate high impact writing strategies that can be in used in the science classroom to increase students' ability to think critically about science content.
  • Engage in group discussions to reflect on learning and make connections to practice.
  • Plan for implementation using best instructional practices.
