New Coach Academy 2021-2022

New Coach Academy 2021-2022 at ESC Region 13 is a six-day, asynchronous workshop that will provide new coaches, administrators, and teacher leaders with the foundational knowledge, skills, and support needed to coach effectively.  


Topics include:

  • Instructional Coaching 101: Examine the Region 13 Balanced Coaching Framework to grasp the what and why of instructional coaching

  • Coaching Cycles: Learn about various coaching cycles, ways to enroll teachers, and how to develop the principal-coach partnership

  • Navigating Relationships: Role-play communication techniques to build trusting relationships and identify possible causes to resistance

  • Balancing Roles: Discuss the various roles of an instructional coach, the level of impact on teachers and students, and ways to prioritize time

  • Impacting Instruction: Dive into John Hattie’s research to determine how to impact instruction with a single teacher as well as with a team of teachers

  • Growing Your Coaching: Assess where we are using the Region 13 Balanced Coaching Framework to reflect and set goals for further growth

 

This self-paced, online workshop also includes four synchronous sessions with ESC Region 13 Instructional Coaches.
