STAAR Redesign Ready: Classroom Connections

Ready, Set, STAAR!

Join us for a deep dive into the new STAAR question types for the '22-'23 school year!

We will explore classroom implementation of questions, strategies, and technology that meet students where they are and offer accessible options for all our students.

The STAAR redesign is a result of House Bill (HB) 3906 passed by the 86th Texas Legislature in 2019 and aligns summative assessment to the classroom experience. Transformative changes to the STAAR program include: transition to 100% online testing, 75% cap on multiple choice questions, evidence-based writing, & cross-curricular passages.

Each content session will include instructional strategies and classroom instruction and assessment applications.
