This exam preparation institute will assist teacher candidates and certified teachers in preparing for the Bilingual Target Language Proficiency Test (BTLPT) and the Bilingual Education Supplemental Exam. Content covered includes:
- Foundations of bilingual education
- Processes of first and second language acquisition
- Development and assessment of literacy in L1
- Content area instruction in L1 and L2
- Listening comprehension
- Reading comprehension
- Oral expression
- Written expression
Participants of the Bilingual Institute will also receive instruction on test-taking strategies and will take practice exams for both the BTLPT and the Bilingual Supplemental exam.
This institute will take place over two weeks with classes on Saturdays (9am-4pm) and Tues/Thurs evenings (6pm-9pm). The exams this institute will prepare participants for are:
- Bilingual Target Language Proficieny Test (BTLPT) #190
- Bilingual Education Supplemental Exam #164
