Welcome to La hora bilingüe! Bilingual teachers know that the demands in the biliteracy classroom are different from those in a monolingual setting. We also know that we need to dedicate additional energy and time to find the resources to support the teaching and learning of both language and content. La hora bilingüe has two goals:

Provide bilingual teachers with support and ideas that will facilitate our mission of growing bilingual and biliterate students, and

Connect you with colleagues across the region in order to learn from one another and develop a network of support and encouragement
In this session, we will look at what we think matters the most in Kindergarten, building strong literacy foundational skills in Spanish and English. We will clarify the essential components of early biliteracy instruction by modeling lesson plans in which skills are taught in one language and effectively transferred to the other language of instruction.
