Social Studies STAAR Redesign: Tools for Success is an online, self-paced Canvas course that will support you in learning about the new item types and much more!

By completing this course, you will: 

  • Understand six new STAAR item types for Social Studies

  • Recognize how the TEKS can lend themselves to the item types

  • Consider instructional strategies to support the item types

  • Learn about ways to ensure accessibility for all with the item types

  • Create item types in DMAC or Eduphoria

Each online module within the course will focus on a new item type. Modules will be released gradually according to the schedule below. Once a module is available, you can reference it at any time.
