This seminar will take a deep dive into the armed security requirements of Texas House Bill 3 (HB-3). The new law takes effect September 1st and will require public school districts and open enrollment charter schools to provide armed security personnel at every campus during regular school hours. For many school districts, HB-3 presents a complex mandate. 

This 3-hour seminar is intended for school board trustees, superintendents, district leaders and anyone else who wants to better understand HB-3's armed security provisions and also benefit from an objective discussion on topics such as:

• armed security options for compliance
• claiming/documenting a "good cause exception"
• developing/documenting an "alternative standard"
• relevant comparisons of SROs, ISD police officers, contract peace officers, school marshals, "guardians" and Level III armed security officers
• practical policy and operational considerations
• sample cost modeling / financial implications
• Q&A session to address specific circumstances faced by attendees and their individual districts or schools.
