These 6 week Signing Exact English (SEE) sessions focus on helping students to grow their vocabulary base, fluency, and expressiveness. Topics discussed will be Total Communication, SEE, ASL, fingerspelling strategies, visual features, muscle memory, confidence building, and storytelling strategies. These classes are suitable for adults (families, educators, professionals, interpreters) and children, ages 12 and up.
Theme-based lesson will be taught along with opportunities for receptive and expressive practice. Students will apply the new vocabulary using books, songs, games and other various applications that encourage fluency and fluidity. Mini lessons will be taught on the SEE principles, fingerspelling, and visual features that conceptualize this English sign system. Thematic units often include family signs, food, outdoor/nature, animals, season themes, sports and activities, action verbs and connecting words.
